Spice-Rubbed Texas Brisket from the Oven

Mel's aunt and uncle thoughtfully gifted us Marcus Off Duty for Christmas, and we couldn't wait to start trying all the recipes!

Given DJ's love of BBQ, the first recipe we wanted to dive into was the Spice-Rubbed Texas Brisket from the Oven.

The rub itself is extremely easy to blend.  For fun, we added a dash of ground coffee to the mix but we didn't notice much difference in the flavor (probably didn't put enough to make a difference).  We think this rub would be great with pretty much any protein, so we plan on using it again with other meats.

It smelled superb as it cooked, and the end result was beautifully browned and tender.

We'd make this dish again anytime!  But first we may try to tackle some of Marcus's other creations.
